Why a new gasification technology (1)

ECN focus: Large scale production of Substitute
Natural Gas (SNG), because ~50% of Dutch
energy consumption is natural gas, sustainable
alternative is required.
•
Overall efficiency needs to be high, because we
think biomass will be expensive.
•
No optimal large scale commercial gasification
technology available.
